Who We Are

What We Do

Friends of Nigeria (FON) is an alumni association for Nigeria RPCVs as well as many others with an interest in Nigeria.  In addition to the quarterly newsletter and Membership Directory, FON hosts an annual meeting, held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the National Peace Corps Association, with invited speakers on the politics, arts, and economy of Nigeria.  The combined annual meetings draw members from throughout the country, for an opportunity to socialize and keep up to date on Nigeria.

Connect

FON maintains a membership database of RPCVs and staff who served in Nigeria as well as all others who are members of the organization.  The database is accessible to the membership.

Stay Updated

FON publishes a quarterly newsletter that features articles by FON members, updates on FON Meetings, news from Nigeria, obituaries, and book reviews.  Periodically, FON also publishes a Membership Directory.

Get Involved

A small portion of your dues supports the fixed costs of printing and mailing the newsletter and Membership Directory, and maintenance of the website.  More than 80% of your dues and donations is distributed in grants to grass roots organizations in Nigeria, most of which have a focus on health education and provision of health services in rural areas.
