Who We Are

What We Do

Friends of Nigeria (FON) is more than the alumni association for Nigeria RPCVs. FON is a meeting ground for Americans who served in Nigeria along with members of the Nigerian Diaspora and others. FON's annual meetings, usually held in conjunction with the NPCA, is a hub for interest in Nigeria in North America.

Connect

FON provides a directory of all PCVs and staff who served in Nigeria, making it easier to reconnect.  FON donates to organizations in Nigeria that are promoting the health, welfare or economic capacity of Nigerians

Stay Updated

FON publishes a quarterly newsletter that features articles by FON members, updates on FON Meetings, and news from Nigeria.  It also provides obituaries of our members who have died.  Our website has institutional information and allows members to communicate directly with one another.

Get Involved

Your dues support the fixed costs of FON: printing and mailing the newsletter and the costs of hosting the website.  Dues not spent on costs are donated to projects in Nigeria.  100% of contributions support good causes in Nigeria.

Projects

Friends of Nigeria has a long history of supporting development projects in Nigeria.  From 1999 through 2019 we have raised and distributed more than $290,000 as grants to 12 organizations.  All membership dues not required for operational expenses go to development projects.  100% of donations go to development projects.
