About Friends of Nigeria
Friends of Nigeria (FON) is a community of more than 2,000. Most of our members are Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and staff who served in Nigeria, but our membership draws as well from other service organizations with ties to Nigeria, from the Nigerian diaspora, and from many others with an interest in Nigeria and the Peace Corps. FON, which was formed in 1996, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is an affiliate of the National Peace Corps Association.
Connect with fellow volunteers
There are several ways to connect with fellow members of Friends of Nigeria. Our membership is constantly on the move, but our database offers up-to-date information that allows you to keep in touch. In addition, at two year intervals FON publishes a Membership Directory that is distributed to dues-paying members. The quarterly newsletter is available on the website, and our annual meeting, which draws attendees from throughout the country, provides an opportunity to hear about Nigeria from artists, writers, diplomats, and other experts, and provides a welcome opportunity to meet and greet and socialize with other FON members.
