Overview

Friends of Nigeria maintains a database of all Peace Corps Volunteers and staff who served in Nigeria.  The database helps facilitate communication between former volunteers, staff, and Nigerians, and between FON and its membership.  We invite members of the extended Nigerian community to join us.

Friends of Nigeria publishes a quarterly newsletter that features articles contributed by members that pertain to Nigeria.  Articles may include book reviews, current events in Nigeria, international news, the arts, and political developments.  The newsletter also reports on our annual meeting.  The annual meeting is held just before the NPCA national meeting

Friends of Nigeria also supports projects in Nigeria that improve local living conditions.  These include projects that improve maternal health, address the problem of fistula, spur economic development, provide relief for internally displaced persons fleeing political violence, or facilitate computer training and education.  Peace Corps may have been absent from Nigeria for over 50 years, but we can still try to improve life there!
